URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Reno NV 118 PM PDT Tue Apr 1 2025 ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM PDT THIS EVENING... * WHAT...Moderate to heavy snow. Additional snowfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches with 4 to 8 inches above 7000 feet. Ridge winds gusting as high as 75 mph. Lake Tahoe winds west-southwest gusting up to 35 mph with waves of 2 to 3 feet. * WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area. * WHEN...Until 11 PM PDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact this evening's commute. Blowing snow could cause reduced visibilities. Isolated lightning strikes are possible within stronger cells. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Heavier cells could produce 1 to 2 inch per hour snowfall rates with sudden reductions to visibility.
