URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Eureka CA 1247 PM PDT Mon Mar 31 2025 ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM PDT TUESDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow expected for elevations above 3000 feet. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 12 inches. Up to 2 feet over Scott Mountain Pass and other higher peaks. * WHERE...Trinity County. * WHEN...Until 5 PM PDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Tire chains may be necessary if travelling through mountain passes. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Snow level starts at 4500 feet this evening, lowering to 3000 feet tonight. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility.
