URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Anchorage AK 1224 AM AKST Wed Feb 5 2025 ...DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM AKST THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Visibility of one quarter mile or less in dense fog. * WHERE...Anchorage. * WHEN...Until 11 AM AKST this morning. * IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Patchy dense fog has been observed on satellite along Turnagain Arm and surface observations also indicate that dense fog is drifting through portions of Anchorage. As of midnight, the thickest fog is located near Merrill Field and JBER. Please plan ahead and be aware of visibility reductions if you are on the roadways through this morning. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
