URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Reno NV 134 PM PST Sat Feb 1 2025 ...LAKE WIND ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM PST MONDAY... * WHAT...Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph and waves 2 to 5 feet. * WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area. * WHEN...Until 1 AM PST Monday. * IMPACTS...Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds may decrease at times as persistent rain spreads over the lake today into late tonight, but overall lake conditions will remain choppy with a further increase in winds likely for Sunday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.
