URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 107 AM AKST Sat Dec 21 2024 ...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 9 AM AKST MONDAY... * WHAT...Blowing snow expected. Winds gusting as high as 45 to 50 mph. Visibility will be reduced to 1/2 mile or less at times. * WHERE...Dalton Highway Summits. * WHEN...From 11 AM Saturday to 9 AM AKST Monday. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
