URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Reno NV 1204 PM PST Sun Nov 24 2024 ...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM MONDAY TO 4 AM PST WEDNESDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 feet above 7000 feet with 2 to 8 inches elsewhere. Ridge winds will be gusting as high as 90 mph. * WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area. * WHEN...From 1 PM Monday to 4 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening and Tuesday commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines due to the expected heavy wet nature of the snow. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will be Tuesday morning.
