URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Reno NV 108 PM PST Thu Nov 21 2024 ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM FRIDAY TO 10 PM PST SATURDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Snow accumulations between 1 to 2 feet above 7,000 feet with 2 to 6 inches below 7,000 feet. Ridge winds gusting as high as 95 mph. * WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area, and Lassen-Eastern Plumas-Eastern Sierra Counties. * WHEN...From 10 AM Friday to 10 PM PST Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...For Lake Tahoe, lake winds may gust up to 50 mph on Friday and Friday night which will cause wave heights of 3 to 5 feet. Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
