URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Fairbanks AK 140 PM AKDT Mon Oct 21 2024 ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM AKDT TUESDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snowfall and blowing snow is expected. Significant blowing and drifting snowfall is possible along the highway summits with severely reduced visibility. Additional snow accumulations of up to 10 to 20 inches are possible. Winds could gust as high as 60 mph across higher elevations. * WHERE...White Mountains and High Terrain South of the Yukon River, Upper Chena River Valley and Chatanika River Valley. * WHEN...Until 4 PM AKDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...With the heavy snowfall and strong winds blizzard like conditions are possible with visibilities near 0.
