Central Transylvania County in western North Carolina... * Until 200 AM EDT. * At 902 PM EDT, Persistent moderate to heavy rain across the area today has resulted in between 4 and 6 inches of rain. A band of moderate to heavy rain with rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour is moving into the area with saturated soils. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area, which will result in additional flash flooding. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
