Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC 313 AM EDT Wed Sep 25 2024 ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low- lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE...Shoreline in Saint Mary's County. * WHEN...Until 1 AM EDT Thursday, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS...At 3.5 feet, water covers roads on Saint George Island, is in yards, and is approaching structures. To the east, inundation is occurring at multiple marinas off Saint Mary's River, Smith Creek, and Jutland Creek. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides two to two and a half feet above normal. The next high tide at Coltons Point is at 9:48 AM and 10:05 PM. The next high tide at Piney Point is at 9:12 AM and 9:29 PM. The next high tide at Point Lookout is at 7:46 AM and 9:02 PM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
