URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service New York NY 506 PM EDT Thu Sep 19 2024 ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 9 AM TO 1 PM EDT FRIDAY... * WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. * WHERE...New York (Manhattan) County. * WHEN...From 9 AM to 1 PM EDT Friday. * COASTAL FLOOD IMPACTS...minor flooding in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional rounds of coastal flooding around the times high tide can be expected through at least the weekend. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
