BULLETIN - EAS ACTIVATION REQUESTED Flash Flood Warning National Weather Service Greenville-Spartanburg SC 123 PM EDT Thu Aug 8 2024 The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has extended the * Flash Flood Warning for... Union County, North Carolina... * Until 530 PM EDT. * At 123 PM EDT, The heaviest rainfall has ended across Union County but streams continue to rise following 3-5 inches of rainfall countywide earlier today. The Flash Flood Warning has therefore been extended through 530pm as several streams, including Bearskin Creek, Goose Creek, and South Fork Crooked Creek continue to rise near and above Minor Flood Stage. Please avoid flooded and barricaded roadways and stay away from all streams through this evening as it will take many more hours for streams to crest and recede back below critical levels. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. SOURCE...Gauges reported. IMPACT...Expect extensive flash flooding of farmland, parks, greenways, boat-access areas, and golf courses. Inundation may be several feet deep. Other flood-prone areas will be impacted including low-lying roadways, low-water crossings, underpasses, and parking lots. Several low-water crossings, roads, and bridges may be flooded and impassible, with deeper flows over roadways possible. A few road washouts are likely. Low-lying structures may also be impacted by shallow floodwaters. * Some locations that are likely experiencing flash flooding include...
