URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Miami FL 139 AM EDT Wed Jul 3 2024 ...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM EDT THURSDAY... * WHAT...Peak heat index values between 105 and 110 degrees expected Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. * WHERE...Coastal Broward County, Coastal Miami Dade County, Far South Miami-Dade County, Inland Broward County, Inland Miami-Dade County, Metro Broward County, Metropolitan Miami Dade, Coastal Collier County, Inland Collier County, and Mainland Monroe Counties. * WHEN...From 10 AM this morning to 8 PM EDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Although heat indices will decrease Wednesday night into Thursday they will likely not drop below 90 degrees for portions of the east coast metro. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside.
