URGENT - WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Las Vegas NV 1235 PM PDT Thu Sep 26 2024 ...EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM FRIDAY TO 8 PM PDT SUNDAY... * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions for late-September expected with high temperatures ranging from 102 to 105. * WHERE...Las Vegas Valley and Northeast Clark County including Moapa Valley. * WHEN...From 10 AM Friday to 8 PM PDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events, especially at the end of record-breaking summer heat. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
