URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Great Falls MT 802 PM MDT Tue May 7 2024 ...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT MDT WEDNESDAY NIGHT... * WHAT...Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations between 8 and 16 inches. Winds gusting as high as 55 mph. * WHERE...Gallatin and Madison County Mountains and Centennial Mountains. * WHEN...Until midnight MDT Wednesday Night. * IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Those in the backcountry should ensure they have appropriate knowledge and gear and may want to consider alternate plans. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and the combination of heavy wet snow and winds may cause isolated power outages. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
